The Table of Gratitude

As we enter this season of gratitude, I’ve been reflecting on how a Thanksgiving table symbolizes more than just a meal — it’s a metaphor for the life and business we’re building together. Every part of that table, from the main dish to the leftovers, reminds us of what it takes to grow, give, and truly thrive.
The Table
The table represents support—the foundation that holds everything else up. In life, that’s your community: your mentors, family, friends, colleagues, and those who quietly cheer you on from the sidelines. I want to take a moment to say thank you. Whether you’ve read my emails, commented on a post, offered encouragement, or partnered with me as your coach, you’ve pulled up a chair at my table. Your presence matters more than you realize.
The Tools
Every feast requires utensils — the practical tools that help us serve what’s good. In business and life, our “tools” might be planners, routines, affirmations, or the mindset practices that keep us centered. It’s not about having the fanciest set — it’s about using what’s in front of you with intention and gratitude.
The Main Course
The main dish — the heart of the meal — represents your purpose. It’s the work that excites you, the conversations that matter, and the ways you use your gifts to help others. Preparing it takes time and effort. Just like roasting a turkey, it’s not something you can rush. It’s a process of nurturing, seasoning, and trusting the timing.
The Stuffing
Stuffing is about what’s inside — your priorities and values. When we lead from what matters most — faith, family, integrity, growth — everything else becomes richer. Gratitude doesn’t just fill your plate; it fills your heart.
The Gravy
Gravy makes everything a little more satisfying. In our work, that’s the rewards — the joy, the wins, the financial abundance that flows when we serve with excellence. But the gravy only tastes good when the main dish is cooked with love.
The Vegetables
Vegetables symbolize growth — the things we might resist but know are good for us. Setting boundaries, having tough conversations, and doing the inner work — they might not be the “fun” parts, but they’re what nourish long-term success.
The Cranberry
Life will always include a bit of tartness. Challenges, disappointments, and unexpected twists test us and highlight our blessings. Without the tart, we wouldn’t fully appreciate the sweet.
The Relishes
Then come the friends — those who bring flavor, laughter, and color to our journey. I’m so thankful for the people who show up authentically, who encourage, challenge, and inspire me daily.
The Choices
The beauty of the table is freedom. You get to choose what goes on your plate. Big helpings, small bites — this is your life, your business, your rhythm. There’s no one “right” portion, just what feels aligned for you.
The Dessert
And of course — the pie. Dessert represents celebration and recognition. It’s that sweet moment of satisfaction after reaching a goal, learning a lesson, or meeting a milestone. Allow yourself to enjoy it. You’ve earned it.
The Dishes
After the feast comes cleanup — resetting, reflecting, and preparing for what’s next. It’s a space where you acknowledge progress, tidy your systems, and get ready for another season of creation.
The Leftovers
Leftovers are opportunities that carry forward — the new ideas, relationships, and unfinished dreams waiting for your return. They’re already seasoned and ready to be warmed up whenever you are.
The Nap
Finally, the rest. The moment to pause, breathe, and simply be. You’ve poured out, served well, and now it’s time to receive—peace, stillness, and renewal.
As we gather around our own metaphorical tables this November, I just want to say thank you again — for being part of my journey, for your trust, and for your belief in what I do. Whether we’ve worked together or you’re simply part of this growing community, please know that your presence in my world is one of my greatest blessings.
Here’s to gratitude, growth, and a full, joyful table — this season and always.
Love and BIG Belief,
Terri Schafer
